THE DECISIONS THAT SHAPE THE WORK

Invent a world. Give us someone to follow.

Worldbuilding draws readers in; character choices keep them there. A fiction brief connects the premise, emotional stakes, and genre promise before chapters multiply.

01

Character

What does your protagonist want, and what makes that difficult?

02

World

Which rules create meaningful limits and consequences?

03

Arc

How will the ending change the meaning of the opening?

A USEFUL FIRST CONVERSATION

Bring your questions.
And a little context.

For authors developing a new premise, expanding a short story, or continuing a partial novel. Existing character notes and world details are welcome.

YOUR PROJECT BRIEF
01Premise and genre
02Character or world notes
03Desired length and readership
04Tone and content boundaries
You can start with what you know. We’ll discuss the gaps.
GOOD QUESTIONS TO ASK

Start with clarity.

For authors with an idea, a partial draft, or a story that needs a clearer shape.

How do you avoid constant action becoming tiring?

Quieter scenes give consequences room to land. A pacing plan balances discovery, conflict, and recovery.

Can you work with my existing lore?

Bring maps, notes, and a glossary. A continuity reference helps keep the world coherent without overwhelming the story.

Must every technology be scientifically proven?

No, but internal consistency matters. We distinguish established science from the assumptions your fictional world asks readers to accept.

Can the story avoid graphic violence?

Yes. Agree on content boundaries at the outset. Psychological tension and implication can carry a horror story.

How is the heat level chosen?

You set the boundaries and intended readership. Those decisions guide intimacy, language, and genre positioning.
